This patient is a diabetic and received a pedicure and a callus rasp (a.k.a. cheese grater) was used on the top of their foot to remove/exfoliate dead skin. This caused a wound to get infected and created necrotic tissue that most likely will require a wound vac. This is how quickly a simple pedicure service can go so very wrong with an uneducated or undereducated licensed/unlicensed tech. Please be very careful where you receive your services if you have a compromised immune system, autoimmune disease, type 1 or 2 diabetes and/or have any vascular problems. Holding a Medical Nail Tech Certification helps me help clients receive safer, cleaner, healthier and productive foot care services. You can be confident that if I cannot take care of you, I certainly will refer you to the proper medical professional until I can care for you. My goal here at Hygeian Hand and Foot Refinery is to bring on, mentor and make sure all my future team will acquire their Medical Nail Tech Certifications. One place the medical community will be confident sending patients to for hand and foot care.
